Here is a percussion kit and loops filled with organic forest sounds. All royalty free and free to download. There are sounds from dry leaves being crunched, twig snaps, dragging my feet along a stoney pathway and more. I think there is about 500 one shots and loops in total. When I got to the point he was making that 3:2 was easy to hear and 15:8 wasn't. I thought I knew where he was going with it, but the major chord was a way better demonstration of that point. Gotta love Adam Neely.

His channel is a mix of musical history, theory, and popular culture videos in a format that has been described by several commentators as the 'musical Vsauce'.[2][5][6][7] He also creates 'GigVlogs', which give insight into the life of a professional musician.[8][9]
Career[edit]
Adam Neely began his career as a YouTuber in 2006, first uploading a video of him covering Scott Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag[10] on a 7-string electric bass. In 2008, he began uploading semi-regular videos discussing topics such as music theory, music cognition, jazz improvisation, musical performance technique, musicology, and internet memes.[11] He graduated from Berklee College of Music's undergraduate program in 2009,[1] and later graduated with a Masters of Music in Jazz Composition from the Manhattan School of Music in 2012, studying under Jim McNeely.[12] He was awarded the Herb AlpertASCAP Young Jazz Composer award in 2012 and 2015[6][3][13] as well as the Jerome Fund commission prize in 2014, for his work 'Exigence'.[14]

He has since worked as a bass player and educator in New York City with artists like Shubh Saran,[15] Zac Zinger,[16] Aberdeen,[17] the NYChillharmonic,[18] The 8-Bit Big Band, J-Music Ensemble,[19] and many others. He sometimes creates videos for comedic effect; an example is when he streamed himself playing The Lick for five hours straight.[22] He later explained in an episode of his 'Q+A' series on YouTube that he wanted to 'do my version of Erik Satie'sVexations' (a piece that is typically played 840 times in succession)[23] and wanted to make a 'modern technical meme'.[24]
In December 2019, Neely earned a spot in the New Yorker's annual Christmas Poem.[25]

“I go quite far off the deep end towards the end of this lecture,” notes Neely, “but it was all in service of proving my last point. If you stick it out, you see why I start rambling about things that might on the surface appear to be ‘too far out there,’ but are in reality a means of understanding some fundamentals of music perception.”
