Is Ableton Better On Mac Or Pc 2018

Nov 16, 2017  We cover specs and other things to look when buying a new desktop or laptop for music production. This year we talk about Apple products and Window. To me, using Ableton on Windows or Mac didn't make a difference. The latency with a Fireface UCX was a bit better on the Mac. What I'd be careful with is the thermal. Sep 08, 2018 A mac or pc for music production? What are the differences between a iMac vs Windows for music producers? The best computer for music production is the one that you can work the most comfortable with. I'm no Mac expert, I use them for only programming and testing and have just a modest i5 2019 pro and prefer (personally) to use PC but I also am not a live performer with Ableton Live. For that many tracks you want a processor with lots of cores and threads, the more the better.

Is Ableton Better On Mac Or Pc 2018 Full

I'm currently using a Windows PC, but am going to move to Mac.
I am considering either the new Mac Mini announced today or a 2017 iMac, ie between the following models:

Mac Or Pc Cnet

- iMac 21.5' 3.6GHz quad-core 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz); 16GB RAM; 512GB SSD
- Mac Mini 3.2GHz 6?core 8th?generation Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.6GHz); 16GB RAM; 512GB SSD
BetterI understand that you need both good single and core performance for using Ableton.
Typically, I run 20-30 tracks in Ableton, using a large number of VST plug-ins.
The price difference between both models is minimal, with the iMac only costing around $200 more (once you take mouse and keyboard purchase into account). I already have a monitor, so if I get the iMac, then I would likely use it in dual monitor mode.
So my question is whether Ableton would run considerably faster with the Mac Mini, or whether the performance improvement would be minimal?
Also, would I be better 'future-proofed' with the Mac Mini?Hi guys
For a variety of reasons I'm considering switching back to Windows after being on Mac for a decade
I would love to hear ya'lls thoughts on pros and cons of using Windows for music production in the current computer market and specifically stability - do you guys trust your windows systems for live performance? Audio interface driver weirdnesses?
'Back in the day', Windows XP didn't seem to be as stable overall as OS X but obviously it's 2018Cnet
Long story short, apple sent me a brand new max'ed out macbook pro for free to replace an old one but it's not stable and I hate the touch bar. mac support use to be stellar but not so much anymore. The temptation to sell it for around $3k and get a windows computer is strong. Considering even selling it and getting a 2015 macbook pro.
Curious for any and all thoughts, cheers
